Sunday 2nd June - Stage On The Green

Malcolm Joseph has been the official bass player for the world-famous singer Grace Jones for over 15 years and when he’s not mingling with the stars on a world tour with the former model and James Bond actress, he resides in Cornwall, UK.

Originally from Hackney, London, Malcolm has been passionate about music since he was a youngster. In addition to being a professional bass guitarist, he is also an accomplished songwriter and producer. Malcolm co-founded the band 7th Heaven, who was signed between 1984 – 1989 with CBS, Arista, and Phonogram, and publishing with The Morrison and Leahy publishing house.
The group made it into the Top 10 in the dance charts in 1985, and Top 50 in the national charts. He has worked and performed with a multitude of legends in the UK since the 1980s, including Massive Attack, Neneh Cherry, Soul II Soul, Desree, Dave Stewart, Skye Edwards and many more.

Additionally, Malcolm ran his own recording studio in London where he worked alongside an array of musicians and artists.
On top his active participation in music for Cornwall’s youth music, Malcolm is still pursuing his professional craft, writing, and composing.
In late 2022 Malcolm released his second album – Ground.  The Album is an eclectic movement of songs ranging from Funk, Jazz, Soul and Dance. In 2023 the decision was made to form a band to play the album and other material written by Malcolm, Live. So the band Malcolm Joseph and The Unquiet Peace was formed.
