Sunday 31st May - Madame Wong's House of Wrong

Mid Nite Life is a live band first. The records are just the trail of smoke behind it.

Mid Nite Life is what happens when late nights turn into a life plan. London rapper/producer Frankie Plato and Bristol producer Will Lardner had been circling each other for years.. DJ booths, sweatbox venues, dodgy afterparties… until the collaboration finally stuck and became a band. The sound lives in indie but it’s got punk grit, bass weight and hip-hop instinct baked into it: big low ends, sharp hooks and lyrics that don’t flinch. Live it expands into a four piece with Jimmy Norden on drums and Jack Beale on guitar. Built to hit hard and leave a mark.

They broke through with “What You Know About,” landing the Record of the Day accolade and a BMW placement, then kept the pressure on with “Vibes,” “Run Home,” “My Own Way,” and “Creeping,” picking up heavy support across BBC 6 Music and the BBC Introducing network, plus some serious BBC Radio 1 Future Alternative love along the way. Their tracks have soundtracked KFC’s national TV campaigns in America, been playlisted in store at JD Sports and even been used on BBC1’s Live at the Apollo, where the host walked out to their music like it was a warning shot.

With 15 tracks released in 2025 alone, the radio support stacked up. BBC Radio 1 plays and their Rock Tip of the Week, more BBC 6 Music support and even more Introducing spotlights. But the real point is what happens when the songs leave the studio and hit a crowd. That’s what the debut album Live at Bristol Beacon is: a full throttle snapshot of the band in its natural habitat. Hometown stage, friends in the room and a set that swings between fists up chaos and sing it back moments. Proof of concept for anyone who hasn’t seen them yet.
